Permasilenced? (possible Watcher's Keep spoiler)

On level 3 of Watcher's Keep you talk to Aeggareth the Cambion and can play a couple games with him to exit the area and win a few items. During the course of the game one of the effects I got was some sort of silence effect. I didn't pay too much attention to it at the time because the one who was silenced was my mage who had the Amulet of Power (the one with vocalize in it), so I figured the effect was nulled. Annnyway, to make a long story short, I can't seem to get rid of it. A Vocalize scroll doesn't cancel the effect as per the spell description. Dispel doesn't get rid of it and it doesn't wear off. Heck, even killing and resurrecting him doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas?

Try to use remove curse spell. The worst case is to go to a temple and let the priest cure you there. Of couse, you have to pay a small fee for that

I have a similar problem to Necrotaur's but the remove curse spell doesn't help my character. My "permasilence" appeared when my kensai/mage reached level 41 and after that I haven't been able to cast any spells. I'm not exactly sure but I do recall getting the silence effect while gambling with the Cambion in Watcher's Keep. My character is in Nine Hells at the moment and I would appreciate any help you can give me.

This is a penalty for your using of hack You must have used the experience cap remover. Try to get the latest version of that, I think it fixed the bug.

I already removed the crack and my character's experience dropped to 2.7 million but the levels remained. I already moved on to playing ToB and stopped soloing so the experience cap remover wouldn't make that big a difference with a party of six. One thing that bugs me is that I won't be getting the nice bonuses to THACO and saving throws when reaching level 41 .
