cannot initiate dialogue

Post by babaseighbah »

I recently reinstalled baulders gate II and throne of bhaal. While strolling through irenicus' dungeon i noticed that the sewer golem that opens the door for me with the activation stone would not talk to me, it would say, "You cannot initiate dialogue, sewer golem appears buisy." or something like that. so I said ok and pickpocketed the guy for it. little did I know that this message would be the peak of my conversation with many importaint and not so importaint people. After i got mae'var's little trinket from the temple district i found that he didnt want to talk to me anymore. And I discovered that if I left the building, and re-entered three more times he would talk to me. This was the solution to many of my failed conversation attempts. And it worked on some, and not on on others. And one of the others just happened to be the guy that you owe twenty-thousand gp's for the help with irenicus and imoen. and I found myself stuck without being able to proceed much farther. And I absolutly refuse to help that vampire wench. Im a ranger, and i hate vampires. I will not even go to the graveyard. so I uninstalled and reinstalled the game a couple of times with and without TOB. I do not have any downloads in the game, but I do use shadowkeeper, but I noticed that the "bonus merchants" wears and in the inventory listing, even though I didnt install that file, and I do not have the special edition either. I've got no idea if this means anything or not, but just in case... Any help would be greatly appreciated. this error is far to annoying to let minsc and I plant our boots in the butts of evil. please help. thanks.

You have to install the official TOB patch from Bioware.
