Gonna replay, party ideas?
Well I'm gonna start up a new game(don't have TOB). I'll definately have Dungeon-Be-Gone and Kelsey installed. My first(and only complete) time through with a party was with: PC F/T dualing longswords and katanas, Edwin with the boomerang dagger, Haer'Dalis dualing shortswords, and Viconia(romance) with a flail and a humongous shield I think. This time I wanna go through with a good/neutral party of 2-3 members. Any suggestions?

I like to play "theme parties". For example, I once played a party of troubadours: three hell-raising Bards, Haer'Dalis and his romantic interest Aerie (her vocals got better), and Imoen (because I felt like she belonged, and she did alright on tambourine). The last time I played Throne of Bhaal, every member of my party was a Bhaalspawn, making the game a battle of the Three versus the Five. The next time I play, I'm thinking about playing a goofy, unpredictable party consisting of a Wild Mage PC, Minsc, Jan, Haer'Dalis (edited to be a Swashbuckler), and maybe a character like Quayle (what other Cleric is funny?) or maybe Tashia if she's goofy enough. Old habits die hard and it's hard for me not to keep Imoen in my party since I feel that she of all people belongs in the party, but I've gotten used to ignoring Jaheira in her cell (I pretend she's not even there), and maybe I can leave Imoen to her own devices after I rescue her, since she's so resourceful.
Since you've already played a Fighter/Thief, as good as such a character is, I suggest you play something different next time for variety's sake. I can't get into the role of a Paladin myself, but if you want a melee character, that's about as far from a Fighter/Thief as you can get. A Barbarian would be second. Taking balance into account, if you play a warrior type, perhaps a Fighter/Cleric-type of some sort would fit the bill. Then you could cast spells to buff up your character (which you couldn't do before), and you wouldn't have to worry about recruiting another Cleric-type. (I don't think that Aerie, Jaheira, Viconia, Anomen, and Cernd are all that much fun, anyway.) If you have Kelsey in your party, you could also include Imoen or Jan to handle your thieving needs and complement Kelsey's limited spell selection. A Fighter/Cleric, a Sorcerer, and a Mage/Thief would cover all of your bases and meet your party size requirement. But I'm not sure if that's the kind of party you want (and I can't think of a theme to go with it).
The more I write, the more I realize I don't know what you enjoy playing. So help us out here and tell us what you like.

Well I'm not too much of a fan of "theme parties." I was indeed thinking of going with a Cleric/Fighter, Jan and Kelsey. I'd probably do a dual classed Fighter(maybe lvl 9)/Cleric. I don't remember how the proficiencies work for before and after the dualclass though. Like if your first class weapon profs in something your second class will be proficient in will you get them back afterwards? Well anyway... I'm glad someone suggested this line up as it is what I was more or less thinking of. And as far as weapons and armour go, I think I'll give my C/F the heaviest armour, biggest shield, and the Flail of Ages; Jan will be using shortbows or crossbows; and I'll either give Kelsey the staff of the Magi, the Boomerang Dagger, or something else cool. As for which mage wears what robes that has yet to be determined. Any suggestions?
And as to what I like to play. Well I've started a couple games with Jan, and I think if there's ever room for him he's comin. And I love spells and plenty of 'em. So this party of C/F, Jan and Kelsey is pretty much perfect.

You will get your profencies back when you dualed/second class overtakes your primary/first class.
Just remember the clerics weaponrestrictions and not go placing all your stars in blades or bows *whistle innocent*
A fighter/cleric - especially level 9 fighter - with dual flail of ages and that Crom Feyer(sp?) thingy is practically unstopable
And a tip - use your turn undead a lot if playing a highlevel cleric - you can blow up generic liches with it etc
For mages - if you go "good" party - I'd suggest Jan (with some potions to intelligence he can be quite okay) or Imoen.
Otherwise there is Edwin

As for which mage wears what robes that has yet to be determined. Any suggestions?
I would definately give Kelsey the Robe of Vecna. Sorceror + Vecna = spell casting / killing machine. With Improved Alacrity, your Kelsey will be unloading four to five spells a round. I find the sorc the best companion form an item like the Robe of Vecna. As for Jan, I prefer to equip him with elven chain mail. I find this makes him very durable along with still being capable of casting spells. It is also great to prevent him from being hit if you want to capitalize on his back-stabbing capabilities. Just my two cents, and enjoy your party!
Well I think that settles is. I'm gonna go with a Fighter(9)/Cleric with profs in Flails and eventually Hammers and he/she'll be tanked out with the biggest shield I can find; Kelsey with the Robe of Vecna and some missile weapon yet to be determined; and finally Jan with either bows or crossbows, Elven Chain, and story time. Thanks I know I pretty much had my mind made up but thanks for the replies.

I'm glad you found my comments helpful.
Here are some more suggestions. If you play a Fighter dualled to a Cleric, I recommend the Berserker kit. But since you have a fairly small party, I think you should also consider playing a multi-class Fighter/Cleric instead of a Fighter dualled to a Cleric. There are several reasons for this. It's easier to roll up a character with great stats if you have a half-elf Fighter/Cleric; your party will be at a disadvantage if your only melee warrior duals to a Cleric and loses his Fighter abilities (temporarily); and if you install Throne of Bhaal, the High Level Abilities available to a multi-class Fighter/Cleric are awesome and they make all the difference.
I presume you'll use a level cap remover (otherwise, your experience will max out halfway through the game), but here is what a Berserker dualled to a Cleric and a multi-class Fighter/Cleric look like at 2,950,000 experience points:
9th Level Berserker/20th Level Cleric
136 hp (CON 18, maximum hit dice)
THAC0 with Flail (no STR modifier): 5 (Base 8)
Attacks per round: 3
Flail *****
War Hammer ***
Mace *
Sling *
Sword and Shield Style *
Two Weapon Style *** (14 proficiency points total)
Enrage twice/day
Multi-class 13th Level Fighter/14th Level Cleric
126 hp (CON 17--racial limit for half elves--maximum hit dice)
THAC0 with Flail (no STR modifier): 7 (Base 8)
Attacks per round: 2.5
Flail **
War Hammer **
Mace **
Two Weapon Style ** (8 proficiency points total)
I'll admit that if don't let your characters earn more than 2,950,000 experience points and you don't play Throne of Bhaal, then a Berserker dualled to a Cleric has some advantages over a multi-classed Figher/Cleric: more hit points, 10% better chance to hit, higher spellcasting ability, and better Turn Undead ability. When I played Shadows of Amn before Throne of Bhaal was released, I preferred dual-classed characters over multi-class characters. But if you consider what happens when the level cap is 8 million experience points and High Level Abilities are available, I really think the multi-class Fighter/Cleric has the edge. If you play Throne of Bhaal, you might need to recruit another melee warrior, anyway, so you want your first melee warrior to be as strong as possible, and that's where the High Level Abilities come into play:
9th Level Berserker/42nd Level Cleric
202 hp (CON 18, maximum hit dice)
THAC0 with Flail (no STR modifier): 3 (Base 6)
Attacks per round: 3
Flail *****
War Hammer *****
Mace ***
Sling *
Sword and Shield Style **
Two Weapon Style *** (19 proficiency points total)
Enrage twice/day
9 High Level Abilities, spells only (maxed out)
Multi-class 24th Level Fighter/25th Level Cleric
148 hp (CON 17--racial limit for half elves--maximum hit dice)
THAC0 with Flail (no STR modifier): -1 (Base 0)
Attacks per round: 2.5
Flail **
War Hammer **
Mace **
Sling **
Sword and Shield Style **
Two Weapon Style *** (13 proficiency points total)
22 High Level Abilities, including Critical Strike, Greater Whirlwind, Greater Deathblow, and Hardiness in addition to the nine Cleric spells available
Their saving throws are roughly the same; the Berserker/Cleric's are slightly better except for Breath Weapon: Death 1/2, Wands 4/5, Petrification 3/4, Breath Weapon 6/4, Spells 5/6.
It's up to you what you prefer, of course. But I hope this helps.

Umm... I don't recall Half-Elves having a racial modifier on any of their stats. BTW I went with a Berserker anyway, and I also don't have TOB so no high level abilities for me. And I don't plan on dual-weilding as I think it'd be super cheese for a cleric to have a huge hammer in one hand and a 3 headed flail in the other. I also wanted to use a big shield, but if I end up needing the extra power I might have to. And I'll get the cap remover at some point.

@ZiMore, welcome to GameBanshee. We hope you'll enjoy your stay, here.
Just a suggestion, but in order to get more replies, you might try starting your own thread with a suitable title (such as Party Help), instead of piggybacking your message on someone else's. Another idea, too, is to do a search on "party," just on thread titles (not content). I know you'll find several dozen such threads from the last year alone, with hundreds of helpful suggestions.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Well to answer his question. You have quite the mixed party: Edwin and Korgan are both evil by alignment and will leave if your rep gets too high, Jan is neutral so he'll stay no matter what, and then there's Keldorn and Valygar both of which will be stripped of their Paladin and Ranger status respectively if your rep drops too low. So as long as you keep your rep somewhere above 10 and somewhere below 18 you should be just fine, but I do see a problem with your party. Is Keldorn your sole source of healing? You could easily drop one of your 3 fighter types and add a Cleric like Viconia. She's evil, but she's my fav Cleric even in a good party. Good luck.
