Okay, My Nord is level 40, and he has only 100 magicka. Pathetic. Hardly enough to do some of the spells I really enjoy
Now, I hear you can get a total of 300 magicka if you match your race with it's birth sign. I chose the Lady, so I'm guessing that's not the Nord's birth sign.
My question is if anyone can tell me which birth signs belong to which races?

I've never heard that, and haven't seen anything in the construction set to support it. The Sign of the Atronach will give your magicka a serious boost (raise it by 2x INT).
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

The most magicka I've ever had has been 500, that was a high elf with the aprentice sign. Even is more is possible with the atronarch but it wouldn't recharge when you went to sleep. Although my character had a 100% weakness to magicka I compensated with that cuirass that gives you 60% so that actually was nice to have so much casting power.
