This guy is telling me that the Lord has not come to see him in Umar Hills. It's been over 8 hours and I've been to the Ranger's cabin twice! What in the world is up? Is it a bug?

After you have spoken to the mayor of Umar, I am sure it is a day at least before he speaks to Madulf and returns.

Patience...

Yes, you have to wait at least a day before they have their chat. I think I went out to the Temple Hills while I was waiting. By the time I got back, all was well in Umar.

Maybe there are some hostile creatures in the Area.

If thats not the case, try pressing Q alot of times......sometimes I cant quicksave either.
Pressing Q often often solves that problem.

U mean killing the guy and his mages...or just healing the curse??

If you have problems killing the guy and his mages, go to the governmet district....talk to the mages inside the Counil (if they have mercenaries)...the story will then guide itself...and ure battle with Baron Ployer will be much easier....

The curse is gone after like 24 hours, cool. Now I need to get another party member. I told Amoneon to buzz off, knowing that his assault is to much for me to kill his enemy right now. So anyone know where to get some really good guy or woman?

What class were you looking to add to your party? mage, cleric, theif, fighter...? Next time I play I'm thinking of using my PC Paladin that I'm using in BG I, Imoen, Aerie and Mazzie.

I want a mage. However the one with the stronghold, she died... oh well. I have a cleric (Jaheria); three rangers: a bounty hunter, stalker, and Minsc; then I gave up the drow(Her and Jaheira don't mix well, I would rather have Jahiera), um Kelgorn I believe, and I can't remember. However I lost my game and have to restart at last point. What is a good party. I don't want to give up Jaheira, Minsc, of Yoshimo; can't give up myself(lol). So any suggestions for two additions? I will not take back the drow!

Well the only other mages in the game are Jan Jansen in the govt district who is also a theif and Edwin, however Edwin is evil and it looks like you're going with a good party. I suggest you try and save Imoen as fast as you can, shes a pretty good mage. You don't have to add another member to your party, smaller partys level up faster and don't have to share all the good equipment, but if you want another member I suggest Mazzy because you can always use another fighter and she's the only good aligned fighter in the game plus you find her rather early.

Folks, if you're going to put up spoliers inside threads that aren't labeled for 'em, please put SPOILER at the top of your posts, and drop down the rest of it several lines. We've had many complaints over the years regarding unremarked spoilers. Thanks. :)

Sounds like you led poor Anomen down the EVIL path with respect to avenging his dead sister. Unless you are intentionally playing the game as evil you should have councelled Anomen to withhold his revenge unless he had proof that his sister was killed by his father's rival. Now Anomen will not be knighted or get his improved wisdom. If you want Anomen (and he can be a really decent fighter/cleric with grandmastery in hammers) then go back to an old save and replay the funeral scene and this time tell Anomen he cannot take revenge without proof of guilt. If you just want to move on from whats done then you might want to pick up Korgan, get him a nice axe and the throwing hammer, and do his quests. If you want a mage you are pretty much stuck with Jan or Edwin unless you want to created your own mage and have him join the party. If you are playing in single player mode just copy the latest saved game over to the multiplayer saved folder. Now start the game in multiplayer mode and load that game. Now go to the party controls and create your mage, bring him into the game and save again. Now copy that multiplayer save back over to single player, reload that saved game and you have your custom made mage. Just don't ever drop him/her out of the party or he/she will wander off and disappear.

Hey thanks for the hint idio. Actually I never knew that they had to share exp. No wonder I wasn't leveling up. And I decided to not lead lead Anomen to his father's house. If he becomes a knight what kind of benefits follow? Thanks for the help. ;)

MINOR SPOILER

Anomen will become a knight, his name will change to Sir Anomen, his wisdom will raise from 12 to 16 and his Alignment will change from Lawful Neutral to Lawful Good.

Another question, what exactly can I do with my gems and sun stones, etc. I usually sell them for the menial reward. However I just raided Anomen's enemies estate and found a rather large sum of money and two nice pieces of jewlery. I wasn't sure what to do with them so I sold them. Bought myself a new bow and some arrows. What else can I do with this stuff for a greater reward? Also I was wondering about this cold flail. No idea what to do with it except it's worth a 1000. Didn't sell it yet so what can I do? Also I have come pieces of a certain sword I think I found in the dungeon at the beginning. What can I do with it? I took this stuff to Cromwell, he said he can't do anything.

You can sell most of the treasure you find, however, some of it is useful such as the pommel jewel you found. Some jewels like the rogue stone can be used to open special doors. If you want to know what you need besides the pommel jewel look at this page http://gamebanshee.com/baldursgateii/cromwellsforge.php . Do you have someone who is proficient in the flail and did you assemble the flail of the ages?

SPOILER

The rogue stone can be used to open a secret door in the docks district but it has a hard fight and I wouldnt suggest you do that yet.

If you desperately need a good mage, Aerie works wonders armed with a ranged weapon and her cleric and mage spells. Of course, that's just my opinion. Nalia probably would have been your best bet, but Aerie comes in a close second, I suppose

In my opinion Edwin is by far the best mage in the game. This guy gets a lot off bonus spells very early in the game. Just watch out you don't get to much reputation or he will leave.
You can actually easily finish the game with your own character,(hard hitting tank of some sort) edwin, Viconia and Jan. only 4 players which means more exp per char troughout the game. I found this the easiest way to complete the game.
