Blade Of Roses?

I just started a new game using a Blade and I was wondering where the Blade of Roses is? It says Bernard sells it in the Copper Cournet but I never found it in his stock. Do I have to do something special before I can get it?

No, he should have it in stock.

He had a sword of flame in stock, is that normal or is it replacing the blade? The charisma boost would be good with his ring of human influence.

No, he should also have the Blade of Roses. But then the Ring of Human Influence maxes out your charisma to 18 anyway - why would you need more?

Bernard only has the Blade of Roses after you do the Copper Coronet quest, rescuing Hendak and killing the Beastmaster and Lehtinan. After that, you should be able to get the Blade of Roses - very useful sword, I use it with my char also.

Charisma over 18 is rather useful for getting better reactions, prices, etc. I usually don't use an item for the explicit purpose of gaining charisma, but it is nonetheless useful on occasion (I have 21 on my current character w/ items, 19 w/out - good old BGI tomes!)

The Blade of Roses is one of the best longswords in a low to mid level BG2 game, IMO. +3 CHA, bastard sword-like damage, and a high enough enchant so that you can hit those annoying iron golems. I always buy it for one of my characters before I go to the De'Arnise Keep.

Okay thanks, I finished the quest. Raised my character a level(currently 11)and got the sword.
