Rebels in Mages Guild: Bug or Purpose?

Post by Straydog »

I am currently both arch-mage of Mages Guild, and archmagister of House Telvanni. After being named as official archmagister, I went back to Balmoras guildhall, and everyones dispositon towards me is 0/100, and it can´t be raised by any means. Also same in Vivec´s guild. Sandith Mora, Ald´ruhn, and Caldera are still original 100/100. It would make sense, since both Balmoras guild mistress, and Trebonius both dislike Telvannis, but Skink and Edwinna supported the player, and Calderas people seem neutral. Anyhoo. Others with similar experiences?

Sounds like a bug. I've become both archmagister and archmage without such a large drop in disposition.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Well, I loaded few plug-ins after I had already started, so it might be the problem? And I have completed the main quest, and don´t want to start again just yet. Tribunal and Bloodmoon uncompleted, so I´ll just suck it up, and keep going. After all, this (possible) bug gives the play a bit more roleplaying aspects. :D

Ok, might have figured it out.

Every time you boost your personality, and speak to someone, you get better reaction (obvious). But with personality 765 (tested with potions), the effects still show at 0-100 range. After the effect wears off, and you speak again to same person, her/his reaction gets the massive drop, even with faction/personality original/ status bonuses. The disposition can be gotten back with bribery, and maybe with good admire (not tested). Try with Mask of Clavicus Vile. Speak to someone with disposition 100 to you, even without mask, with mask on, then take it off and speak again. There should be disposition drop. Back to testing, and bribing my mages back in line. :D

Yea, I've noticed that, which is why I refuse to use any personality-enhancing items.

What's money for anyway, heh heh. Not only can't you take the real stuff with you, but you can't even imagine taking this with you.
