Icewind Dale 2 tech problem

Hey everyone

Everytime i attempt to open a saved game it loads halfway and then i get this message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error
Program: C:\Program Files\ Black Isle\ Icewind Dale 2 \IWD2.EXE
Abnormal program termination

Does anyone have any idea of why this is happening? Any help is appreciated.
