Deul class
Deul class
Basicly what I want to know, is can a human be duel classed in any of the Baldur's Gate games. Most noteibly the first series. I know the games, I've already finished them before, but I never played a human so, If someone could leave some info....THANKS
Screamming!!!!!!!!!!!!
cool. but can I narrow it down a bit, please. So I make a Human, I can start and then start over again in a new class how many times? I am familuar with ADD sec. ed. rules. So is it possable to make a bard? How do paladins fair? I do have the books but I would like this post to help me decide on a charactor that I can play for the whole series. Thanks for you info.
P.S.
my first and only charactor who completed the series was an elf fighter/theif/Mage. He had a pretty cool sword but I wonder how does the paladins sword fair in the end, or is it the same? (Ceria Sumat, I believe?)

you can only dual class once, and into a class in which you have the reccomended stat of that class higher (or equal?) than the reccomended stat of your current class
so if you are a ranger with a con of 16, and you want to become a cleric you must have a wis of 17 or higher
all of your first class' abilities are disabled until the second class reaches the level above the first

Have you ever heard any more inspiring or logical words? I sure haven't.

...but you cannot dual to or from a bard...... only the combinations that work with multi classes can be used when using a dual class.....

Ok,
So how does one make a bard or is it a seperate specialty class?
I remember it use to be up 7th level fighter then 8th thief then druid and bard are the last class. Bard, because of the Harpers. Are there any bard specialty items, There is a lot in IceWind Dale2?
Is it possible to rotate levels from one class to another as a duel class or is it all one then all another?

Bards are a class of their own, like fighters, thieves etc. You can start off as one.
You cant rotate levels, once you dual class you can never grow in the previous one again. To grow in both at the same time you must start as a multiclass
There are items just for bards yes

That was the way in the first edition of D&D. To be a bard you first hade to fulfill certain requirements. Kinda like a prestige class in 3rd edition. Bards were awesome back then. They are still pretty cool. Not at all bad in bg2. Especially the blade is a good class to play. Or why not bring along Haerdalis. He is a blade and has some interesting lines aswell.
