I believe it is the same as Cloudkill (which doesn't affect jellies) but I have never tried it.

In many cases, there doesn't seem to be a general rule, due to programming anomalies. You just have to experiment. Be sure to let us know what you find out.

Does cloudkill put poisoned effects on those that failed the save? Last time my party member was poisoned by staying within the Iron Golem cloud.

The golem gas cloud (which is called "Gas Cloud") and Cloudkill can both cause their victims to be poisoned, but they are technically different. Don't forget that Cloudkill can kill instantly, while the golem Gas Cloud can't. Cloudkill causes poison damage, while the golem Gas Cloud poisons the victim. I'm not sure exactly what the difference is, but there you have it. I don't know whether magic resistance would give a character any resistance to magically created poison or whether the game makes any distinction between "poison" and "magic poison". Unfortunately, i don't have time to do any experiments. If you want to do some experiments yourself, just use ShadowKeeper to give one or more of your characters the 2nd Level Innate ability called Gas Cloud (SPIN979) and have at it. If I'm not mistaken, the Iron Golem script makes the golem cast it every 15 seconds, so I assume that golems can cast it an unlimited number of times. Be sure to give one of your characters magic resistance to see if magic resistance blocks the effects of poison and use someone who doesn't have any magic resistance as a control group. You should probably give your test subjects a very high saving throw for poison so that they will fail it every time, which will make it easier for you to see the results. Good luck.
