ive never played this game but i know this thing from a story my grandfather told me.
A soldier has been captured by the enemy and is to be executioned at dawn. He can chose how he wants to die. If he tell a lie he will hanged and if he tells the truth he will be shot. What should he say to avoid being killed?

If you have completed the Tribunal Temple quests, you will remember that you had this riddle as one of 3 with the atronachs. I have read the explanation, and still don't understand the answer.
The other puzzling part is: what is the question you must answer by lying or truth telling, and how does the questioner know whether you are lying or truth telling? ANSWER THAT - HAH HAH!
SPOILER: The simple answer is lie because if you tell the truth you will die. The lie sets up some kind of contradiction that saves you.

He should say "Hang me". If they hang him he tells the truth and therefore have to be shot. But if they shoot him, he told a lie and has to be hanged.
And so on.
