Anyone following big fight... in the world of Linux?

Post by Minerva »

SCO sued IBM and Red Hat for the copyright infringement, and threatened companies, who are using IBM linux systems, with law suits unless they pay licence fee to SCO, instead of (or as well as) IBM. This is followed by counter suits, of course.

The highlight so far was when SCO gave a slide show about a week ago, with their alleged stolen copyright infringement part of source code. The main reaction SCO got from Linux community was, "Is that the best they can do?"

I found the whole situation hilarious. It's much more interesting than watching soap opera. Am I the only one?

ps. I saw someone described SCO's CEO as "weasel".... Coincidence? :o :D

By now, we all know that is never a coincidence. ;)

Following and following - might be to strong, but I do see on occasion what they are up to.
Although I don't care much for linux at the moment :) (programming to and on winslow platforms for the time being so don't want to add another subject to my life :D )

Am following it right now, thanks to SYM ;) Reminds me of Microsoft's attempts to meddle with the Java language. I hope MS gets their case dismissed in a similar manner.

sadly in this country, there is always someone sueing someone :(

with all the millions of programmers out there (yes I may be overexaggerating, but it is a high number), still noone would ever believe in such a coincidence of codes being similar. But I am not following this so I dont know the full story. Im just tired of all these lawsuits, some are so stupid, that it truelly shows humans in this age have lost common sense.
