And her programming, 3D image, dialog and all, was probably made by some 350 guy with a beard named Bubba. Come on, now: surely you have a girlfriend? Reallife infinitiely surpasseth whatever you can get in a game.

Speaking from the position of being one of the few female gamers I know:
Bastila and Mission are welcome changes to the stereotypical overly-busty barbarian women we usually see in RPGs. Hell, they don't even wear scanty clothes. And yeah, I think Bastila's kind of a looker. On the box, anyway; in game graphics don't do her much justice.

If you think about it, real life is a game.
Only when you're in your teens, and therefore going to live forever.

Huh? What about that outfit Bastila's wearing when you first meet her? The one that has a single strap of cloth hanging loosely to cover the crack of her otherwise exposed butt, and another up the center of her front that somehow holds her size C or D cups (estimates vary), but doesn't keep 'em from standing straight out? Even when she's doing those flips: may the Force be with you, indeed. In any case, that outfit is certainly scanty enough, and Bastila is well-endowed enough fore and aft to fit the stereotype quite well by modern model standards. (And the magic lipstick that always adorns her lips: how could I have forgotten that? Or the hairdo, with that one strand that always comes down over her eyes?) A simple robe would have removed all evidence of cheesecake, but I think it's pretty clear Bioware courted that.
I'll say this much for them: at least they allowed you to choose a male or female avatar. I still remember the grumblings when Ultima IX only supplied a default Anglo-Saxon male. Fact is, a good half the gamers out there are women, and companies have been shooting themselves in both feet for too long by playing exclusively to 12-18-year-old males.

You mean when she's being held captive by slavers and has little choice in the matter? I don't think a band of shady alien slavers would have a such an attractive captive remain clothed for too long. But, yes, you're right. The lipstick, the hair... But who wants to play a fantasy RPG with everyday Joe Shmoe trailer trash greasing up the screen? All I'm saying is that I'm glad the female characters don't provide much opportunity for kids to play dressup.

Ech, I found her, and many of the other "yearning for something" characters to be whiny and annoying...
So, as soon as i didn't need them anymore... *THRUMMMmmmmmm...* Choppy-choppy!

Itch. It itches to feel you cleave to the song of my mettle,
to yield and surrender in nearly every way;
if not in all the important ways.

@Etherial, meaning no offense, but what are you talking about? Who's "yearning for something?" Do you mean the pseudo-romance dialog, or the idealistic material, or something else? And what do you mean by "Thrum?"
And what does any of that have to do with Bastila's looks, which is the thread's subject?

Oh, her voice. Can't say I found it grating. Her manner was rather uptight for a while, but there's a reason for that which I won't mention, here, so as not to spoil a plot element for people who are playing through for the first time.
And no, I don't find her hot. As I said above, I don't get off on images programmed by 350 pound bearded guys named Bubba. Reallife is infinitely more fascinating and varied than anything on a computer, when you get right down to it.

@ Leah. Actually the outfit shes wearing when you meet her is an easter egg. If you put her in a dark Jedi robe later then take it off and she will be wearing it again. Every character technically has them I would guess. Even your main character has a set of evil clothing. When they reach a certain point of the dark side your underwear change for some reason.
It is best to be thought a fool and stay silent, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Of course if your remove her clothes then walk up and click the "free look" button....not that I have ever tried this...or errr....anything....but...I SUPPOSE you might see that actually her underware are rather revealing. When viewed from behind they appear to be see through.
Though NOTHING is as funny as Tomb Raider 3 (or4) where she could crawl under things on her hands and knees. When you chose to look freely there you got a rather amusing rearmount perspective. lol...programers....ya gottat love 'em...lol

Well, their market is roughly the 12-16 year old males who are unsocialable and have confidence issues, so the bit of flesh is sadly yet another attraction to guys who only need to get out more. Ironically, KotoR fades on the kiss between your character and Bastila, though. I have to wonder if that's because of ratings, or to permit sales in some nations where kissing is considered more censorious than showing the female physique.
