Bugbears (Darkest Day)

Post by Mini Me »

Im play Darkest day now, and i come across bugbears in Irenicus' dungeon...great! I think, a better dungeon but not madness like tactics, however, i cant beat them! they seem to be very fast and have loads of Hp. Do they have any weaknesses?

Mini Me was referring (per the thread title) to the Darkest Day mod, which makes a number of changes that increase BG2's difficulty.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Ive played TDD several times, but bugbears??

Are those some sort of goblins (weapon is mostly the bow)
If so, then they should be killed pretty fast with 4 NPC's. Make sure you are near them fast, so they will be using swords instead of arrows, which is IMO safer and does less damage...

Bugbears are like buffed up hobgoblins (they even use the same graphic and soundset). They replace the normal groups of goblins in Irenicus' place.

I'm not sure if there's a good tactic to use against them, except bum rushing them so they don't start firing off arrows. Maybe try webbing or greasing them. Also, lightning bolts can do horrible things in small, tight corridors.
"Game Balance" is getting all players to complain equally.
