where to get my stolen stuff back?

I got caught stealing @ Vivec and turned myself in. And they took some of my quest related items. Anybody knows where I'm supposed to go to get them back? Thanks a lot!

Try the evidence chests at any of the Imperial Forts.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Yep, always look for the evidence chests. I hate it when it happens though, and i always go back to my last savegame. I won't lose much, since i use the quicksave every few minutes or so.
