I'm a tad desperate to get a hold of a savegame for IWD at a certain spot - just inside Lower Dorn's Deep, after defeating the Ice Giants & Wyrms, freeing the slaves and getting Badge #2. Why? Well, my game's bigtime screwy - I need to establish whether it's my savegame, the game engine, or the files for Lower Dorn's that are corrupted. To do that I need someone else's savegame (unless anyone is willing to try *my* savegame on *their* IWD install?)
Y'see, if my team leave the open area of Wyrm's Tooth by the top-right, then leave the Xroads via the eastern exit, the game starts to load the next area, but then CRASHES - so bad I have to reboot!!
I've tried removing all my PCs and importing am included lvl-1 fighter (I have IWD+HOW+the 1.6 HOW Patch). Sending just him thru crashes as well!!
So, basically, I'm stuffed - it seems my Lower Dorns' Deep datafile's bad, or the game engine has a fault (I tried a full uninstall/ restore - it still happens).
I'm about ready to give up on IWD, and I've yet to delve into HOW...can anyone send me a ZIP of a savegame, saved just after the've crossed into Lower Dorn's Deep? (the lava-infested one).
I'm at agarthan@uq.net.au and would be forever grateful - at least I'd be able to see if my game needs to be replaced @ the shop...
