Do many of you use custom AI scripts (i.e. ones other than the NPC default)? If so which ones - are there any good ones to download? If you do use AI scripts, do you use them just for NPCs or for the protagonist as well?
thanks
Paul
Do people use AI scripts?
I usually do this myself as well, but when I want to play without using pause you kinda have to use AI scripts..... but I've only used the default AI scripts as yet......Originally posted by knarf
My opinion too, never tried it either, I set my party AI off so I can keep everything in control myself
"Those who control the past control the future, those who control the present control the past" And I rule the PRESENT!!
I put the 'laughter' back in 'slaughter'

Mostly, no
I usually control the party (AI off), but will often switch AI on to deal with hordes of weak enemies - who needs to have to tell everyone ok, kill THAT goblin next, bleh? Ranged is a good one for your more fragile members caster defend or caster attack for your fighter types, as is the tactics mod Auto-buff.
I understand some of the scripting teams have done some good clone scripts (which would be handy)

I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.

This used to be my general MO as well, but for the last several games, I've just left it off all the time.Originally posted by Jess
I usually stick everyone on standard attack and the weaker ones on ranged. If I want to have a 'strategy' then I just turn it off.
Resistance to Tyrants is Service to God.
I used the AI scripts that came with the Solaufein mod. Its really cool, since my party always consists of 5-6 magic users, the AI scripts lets me buff them up real quick with just a key on the keyboard.
Thing its "S" for quick buff (for spells like ghost armour, stoneskin etc) and "D" for shorter duration spells.
It came with a mass buff scripts that I used for my clerics and they buff up my entire party with "Bless","Haste," and other protection spells with a simple key.
Personally, I never used any other AI scripts after I got this.

The ability to control exactly what each member of your party does in battle is one of the great charms of BG2, IMO. I'm not about to sacrifice that to fairly simplistic AI scripts.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
