It seems to me Casters are weak in this game, I tried to make one but gave up eventually becuase it was so frustrating... It is like most games where once they are a higher level they are amazingly strong and powerful, because it seems the are really weak. I havent played one to a high level so im not really sure if they are good and worth the time and effort.
Can anyone who has a high level caster tell me if they are strong and powerful at higher levels?
Casters...
i`m level 65 and i can tell you that spellcaster are very mighty.
you need to have mixed skills for example
major skills:destruction, long blade, alteration, heavy or light armor, enchant
minor skills: illusion, mysticism, restoration, other magics
later in the game you just curse your enemy a little, then he is defenseless, you throw some fireballs and finish him off with a swordthrust, it`s easy!
there are some great guides how to become a spellcaster, use them!

I haven't actually made a character yet that -hasn't- been able to use a lot of magic. I've found it's extremely powerful. Every now and then you'll manage to find some prick that has a huge resistance to everything, so you'll either have to cast a decent 'weakness to whatever' spell, or pull out some conjuration. Nothing beats summoning a golden saint when you're worried about taking a hit.
Also, I'd suggest taking light armour & marksmanship. Light armour so you can have more pieces of junk to enchant and give you bonuses, and marksmanship so you can deal non-mana-sucking damage from a distance. Marksmanship is twice as nice when you use conjuration properly as well (get somebody to tank while you pump arrows).

Altogether they die on one werewolf's hit in Bloodmoon, strange enough
Altogether one's specialisation in Morrowind determines (together with race and birthsign) only the initial characteristics and skills what may be developed faster (and bring raise in levels). The direction of development is player's choice, and it'd very hard to stick only to maj./min. skills and completely ignore the misc. ones.

you really need magic if you want your character to be very strong. if you don`t have some enchant skill, I think your character can`t be good at all, the same for alteration and conjuration. if you want to be a fighter type like an orc or a nord, you can do a lot more damage if you make 10 fortify strength potions and use them in tough fights.you`ll kill vivec with a daedric daikatana and 1000 strength in a few seconds!

try making a weapon that damages strength...or spells that do that and make mana restore potions and intelligence boosting items...you will soon find a barrage of strength damage spells will turn any powerful creature into easy target...if you damage their strength enough, they literally can't move...pelt with arrows, and easy kills...
They call me Darth...
Darth Gizka!
Muwahahahahhahahha!!!

Damage speed suits even better - not all of them are carrying heavy armor on weapons. My favorite are combos of damage strength and damage speed. With raise of spellcasting ability i'm adding also weakness to magicka as the first in the list and damage agility, too (it's not really necessary, altogether it helps with ranged fighters like skeleton archers).
