It stands to reason that any jeweller would of course disdain a locked chest, and put his valuables in an open well where people go all the time to slack their thirst.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
