I have read throughout this forum that once you complete the final battle in HOW you can't return to Lonely Wood in order to embark on Trials of the Lure Master.
Also, I decided to head to HOW just before completing the final battle in IWD...
I would, ideally, like to complete IWD, HOW and TofLM. Is this still possible? If I ask Hjolder (the barbarian shamen) to return me to Kuldahar, will he bring me back to Lonelywood when I have defeated the final boss in IWD?

It's possible, but you don't need to go back to Kuldahar; I don't know if he'll take/bring you back or not. You cannot do the expansions if you finish IWD first except by starting a new game.
Do IWD until just before Poquein (?), then go do HOW until Dragon(?). Just before dragon go do TOTLM. Then just finish off the rest. You can do it in any order but this is one of the easiest ways.
Incidently once you finish the whole game you should play HOW game again from start to finish with exported characters for one surprising surprise.
