Hello! Introdction post

Post by Potato_Fui »

Hello everyone! I thought it would be good if I introduce myself.

First of all, I come from Australia, but I was born in Taiwan. As you see English isn't my first language, so bare with me if I have some grammar or spelling mistakes.

My name is Tim. I am still a student (a young student...) I have been playing Baldur's Gate for about 2 months. I am only up to Chapter 3, but I could go to Chapter 4.

The reason I have joined this lovely forum is because, I realised that I am still a noob, and I always have new questions everyday, so I thought I would find a good forum where people would be glad to help me out. And eventually I end up finding this site.

Well that's about all I'll say today. Have a nice day everyone!

p.s Hehe... :D almost forgot my question...can a specialist dual class? Eg. Kensai dual class to Mage or Thief or Cleric?

Thx.

I'm from Germany, you see here's a place where all kind of nationalities come together ;)
To answer your question:
Yes a specialist class (also called "kit") can dual just like a normal class (given he meets the minimum ability scores and alignment restrictions), with some exceptions:
Although rangers and the ranger kit Beastmaster can dual to cleric, the ranger kits Stalker and Archer can't.
Last but not least (without the help of Shadowkeeper) you can only dual from a kit, not to a kit.

Thx all for your welcomes and answers! Just a little question regarding what you(Numinor) said...you said that you could dual class as long as you meet the minimum ability scores and alignment restrictions...would I be able to find a page where it tells you that? Or could you simply tell me what are the requirments for Kensai dual to Mage?

Thx again and hope you all well.

To dual a Kensai to a mage is relativly simple (compared to Fighter -> Druid for example ;) )
Since mages have no alignment restrictions you need a Kensai with at least 17 intelligence, thats all.
In general you need to have 17 in the main attribute of the class you want to dual to (Strength for Fighters, Dexterity for Thieves, Wisdom for Clerics, Wisdom and Charisma for Druids, not sure about Rangers :( ), and the alignment of your character must be "compatible" with your new class (for example, only True Neutral fighters can dual to Druids). And you must be human of course :D .
