Hordes of the Underdark -> Gone gold

It now seesm that HotU have gone gold (bioware newsletter, and bioware.com).

The releaseday I've been able to find was 12/2/2003.

Before you equip your characters with ub0r super duper equipment in your twinking modules ... forget it.

You will be stripped of all your items and gold at the beginning of the first chapter of HotU (a drow thief will steal it).

I am glad, that I found this information on the official boards, since I planned to go through the game plus expansion again (before I play HotH) with my rogue to get him the best available "regular" stuff.

To tell you the truth, the game is full of awesome items as is, I don't see any problems aquiring them, I have several +7 items, and just got to the underdark...

You get the items back at the end of chapter 1. As long, as you don't have more than there is space in a chest.
I would really miss some items, like all the henchmen quest items from chapter 1 to 3, Aribeth's friendship ring and Nergal's Claw.

Well, I don't think you're even the same person, as you were in NWN main compaign, so how would you have these items?

If you import your character then you get the items as well. Story wise, there is some difference, I believe, but the NWN games haven't really been about the story, it would seem

This game has some nice details...Iwent through the Underdark with a ranger/weapon-master...golem dungeon...a closed and trapped door...what do I do?...Break it down?...No way!...there's a scavanger rat....wonder why it's been put there...dilemma, dilemma...let's click on it and find out...How about that: I can actually send in the rat through a gap in the wall nearby and have the door opened for me....very cool!!!
