Christof has a Faith option early in the game. The first time that I went through the first stage of the game I ignored this and as a result when Christof was embraced his humanity rating was low. Further, he tosses the cross across the room after his 1st scene with Ecaterina. Faith was not a toggle option to be tampered with after being embraced.
So the second time I took any and all experience that I could get my hands on and dumped every bit of it into Faith... The result was that Christof _doesn't_ toss the cross after his scene with Ecaterina, and the humanity rating was much much higher.... Does the humanity rating affect the usage of certain disciplines later in the game? what is the significance of this besides my general reception as a kindred?
Faith pre Embrace
If I recall correctly, I think there is only one disicpline that requires a low humanity, but I think that by learning that discipline, your humanity drops accordingly, anyway.
The humanity is good for only a couple reasons:
1. If you lose all your humanity, you go into a frenzy, and basically lose the game
2. higher humanity will get you a better ending, while lower humanity will give you the evil ending.
If I missed something, it's because I haven't played the game for about 3-4 years.

The only tome you won't be able to use, is the one you find in Viserohd castle. If you don't mind the game to have a bad ending, you could kill a few innocents, and you'll master that discipline, but if your humanity is too high, you don't have to bother picking it up. If you're the goodly type, you're missing out on a lot, some of those spells are really great.
