I'm looking for recommendations on a new video card. I've got a p3 800mhz 384 mb RAM, WIN XP PRO.
I've currently got a 32 mb card installed (ATI RAGE/PRO) and am looking for a 128 mb card that isn't going to bankrupt me. Looking to spend between $100 and $300 dollars. Features like linking to the TV or playing DVD's aren't really important to me right now.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Well, if you are anywhere in North America, you should be able to get your hands on an ATI Radeon 9000/9600 128mb card for roughly $200, if not cheaper.
I would definatly recommend ATI over Nvidia, considering the most powerful engine (Half Life 2 Engine) is specifically being geared towards ATI chip sets.

Well, the Doom 3 engine is nice. But, the Half Life 2 engine is better, and guess what chip set Valve is developing Half Life 2 in mind with
If you ask me, the Nvidia dynasty is coming to an end, as it does with all major hardware. It happened with Nintentdo, it happened with Voodoo cards, and now with the Nvidia chip set.
ATI cards have been out performing them lately, and by quite a bit.
Mind you, I have nothing against Geforce cards, I just happen to like my Radeon's so much more.
