I hate these things!
I only have two! characters who can hit the critters. Thats a fighter with the Frost Brand and a mage with Staff of Striking. The rest of the party deals 0 damage if they hit.
How do I kill those creatures? Iget beaten up everytime I try.
I'm on the Earth Elemental Node.

I'm not in that section yet, but it sounds like you're dealing with damage reduction. To bypass damage reduction, you have to have a magical weapon (or deal damage directly with spells). As I recall the staff of striking is a +2 weapon, and I don't know about the Frostbrand (but I'm guessing it is also +2).
Damage reduction is supposed to signify the hard skin of a creature (ROCK in the case of an Earth Elemental). 3rd edition rules give damage reduction in a formula like one of these:
10/+1
OR
15/Silver
That first formula means that, on EVERY attack, the creature would ignore the first 10 points of damage from anything less than a +1 weapon. The second formula means that, on EVERY attack, the creature would ignore the first 15 points of damage from any weapon that wasn't silver. I checked the core rule book for 3.5 edition (I play D and D on paper as well) and damage reduction still works the same.
Of course, spells aren't affected by damage reduction, so you could always try throwing a bunch of lightning bolts (air based spell) at the earth based creatures. Fireballs are also good for big mindless destruction. Just some thoughts.
Hope that helps.

Hi there..
Here's how I dealed with those "hard" friends...
Entangle and Web (not all of them will be trapped, but it will surely give you some advantage)... Got my wizard to scribe lots of scrolls of cone of cold and fireball and let them do the work...Yes Galebs have Spell Resistance...but now and then it fails.
By then, I already had released prince Thrommel from captivity and received my "Scather" sword as a reward (it never misses...WOW!) so I had a Chaotic Good barbarian with Scather and Taki (NPC) with the frostbrand.
Oh Yes...don't let your fighters get in the entangle area without some ring of freedom of movement (at this point of the game, you should have at least one from Lareth)
You can also Summon some Earth elementals with the Summon Monster or Summon Nature's Ally (wizards, clerics and druids) and let them do what they do best! Just remember... if you are going to summon them in the entangled area, do this near some Galebs, so that your creatures may reach as much enemies as possible.
Hope it works for you! Good luck!

Got'em!
I now finally killed all of the Galeb Duhrs!
The trick I used was:
Stand in a norrow path with my fighter and ranger. The fighter using the Frostbrand and the ranger taking the beating (he can't hit anything. He has the record of conse-something misses: 21!)
Behind them the cleric ready with healing, and the wizard ready with spells. I walk into the room with the halfling one small step at a time until a single Galeb Duhr comes out of the ground. Then run back with the halfling. As soon as possible the wiz casts MM. It is certain that at least 2 of the 5 MM hits. In close the ranger takes the beating and the fighter hits the Galeb Duhr. If the wiz should have any luck with a hold monster then a coup de grace finishes the Galeb.
