At present I only have the basic NWN but I was considering purchasing the expansions.
Could someone tell me if you are supposed to carry your character over from NWN into SoU? or are you supposed to create a new character for each expansion? and the same goes for HotU?
The reason I was asking was when I come to play HotU I would like a version of my melee bard to gain levels in the Red Dragon Disciple PrC. If the character I have in NWN carries on in to SoU and then HotU I need to keep at least one of his class slots available for the RDD dont I? Or do prestige classes go in some new class slot area?
carry characters over to expansions?
The expansions are well worth it in my opinion although longer ones would be better.
It doesn't matter if you take the same character across or not, it's up to you. There is an export character if you want to do this. I think SoU was meant to be a first level campaign anyway as when I took my Paladin(7)/Champion of Torm(10) through the monsters were far too easy, but a new paladin worked out much more enjoyable. HotU starts at level 15 anyway I think so creating a new prestige class character is a good way of beginning it especially if you want specialist skills etc.
Hope this helps.
