the NPC is the character Elmo in the start of the game. I got him for a laugh cos he was drunk but then i didnt want him. anyways i have since figured it out, thanks anyways for the reply!
One more question, is it just me or am i missing something. Im at the start of the game and ive completed about 5 or 6 of the initial quests and i kinda havent really gone anywhere. everywhere i go to fight there are spiders that poison me (arggh), and i cant get those two people to become a couple
i need help.
Sorry for the big reply

You won't be able to get the people to become a couple till you have access to "Heal".Originally posted by SexyPaladin

You should go to the Moathouse and clear it. Talk to people and some will give you the location of the moathouse.

thanks for the tips rav.
but i think im missing something. im finding fighting just hard to win in general. ive gone to the moathouse, and every battle i have i just scrape through with the win. and if i get poisoned i dont know where to look. when i fought all those brigand guys in the moathouse i dont know HOW i came out the victor.
Is there something obvious that ive missed??? or something i should be doing BEFORE i go out fighting??

What does your party consist of? I had 5 PC party members at around level 2 or 3 before attacking the moathouse (Paladin, Cleric, Monk, Rogue, Sorceress). I spent some time "resting" in Emridy meadows first. You can probably do the same in the woods where you cleared the spiders, or on any "random encounter" map. I got attacked quite often by undead during those naps (and Turning with a Cleric of sufficiently high level to destroy those undead can make for some quick experience). I would do that a couple of times and then go back to town and rest to recover. If you repeat that a few times, it may give you the XP boost you need to be more comfortable with the fighting.
On the other hand, a good fight should take a lot out of you. It means you're earning good experience. During random encounters, like those outside, the game should give you a challenge, but nothing unbeatable. However the battles in the moathouse are a set difficulty, so you want to be prepared.
I hope that helps.

Thanks Keill, your help is muchly appreciated
In my party i currently have (all at level 2) a Paladin, Fighter, Cleric, Rogue and Wizard. You mentioned about clearing the spiders...well i havent actually havent done that yet, because i get poisoned straight away and dont know how to get rid of it.
Anyways time to get kick started, i shall see where my adventures take me (hopefully not to death)
Thanks!

Good luck with the adventuring.
Regarding poison; at early levels the best cure is, unfortunately, bed rest. If you check the "rest until healed" option on the resting pop-up window, it SHOULD take care of it. At higher levels your cleric will be able to neutralize the poison.
Happy Hunting!
