Sometimes I've killed him with first try.. when I started BG I needed tons of reloads :D And of course, was he hard to kill, that depends if you just lure Saverok to attack you or if you fight his whole gang.

Fighters are kinda easy to kill, Savvy is not different. Just think bout mages as hard to disrupt, fighters as strong and resistant people who can smack you down quite easily, and mages can kill you where you stand, without even knowing what happened.

Just try this: Two tanks (Minsc & Khalid)
Two healers (Jaheira & Choice) and two archers for flanking assistance. Try meeting him alone, cause Angelo's exploding arrows can slice you down quite quickly. Then it is just a ride in the park.

In my latest game with a solo Fighter/Thief it took me 2 backstabs to kill him. :D :D :D
In my first game he was realy hard, IIRC i took the out 1 by 1 in that game.

@Elemental ZOOT, you seem to be asking alot of opinions in many differnt threads here in the BG-forum, but hardly ever give your own in your post.

Stilgar, can you post the stats of your solo char?

And I'm curious: Is it easier to solo SoA or BG? Cause I've finished SoA with a solo barbarian and monk, now I'm going through the game with a F/M but I've never soloed BG, I think it is much harder than SoA.

See here for my character.
I havent finished it (cause of lack of time at that moment, and i think its to late now to pick it up again)

I think it's harder to Solo BG1, cause of your low level. And in BG1 youll meet large groups of easy enemy's more often then 1 very powerfull enemy. And the larger groups can be a big problem for a solo character.

BG1 isn't really harder, you just have to be careful where you go when you are first starting. While your solo character starts at a lower level, so do the monsters you fight. The trick is to boost your level fairly quickly without fighting too many monsters. There are several quests that give you experience without actually requiring a fight such as Marl in Feldpost's Inn, Noober in Naskell (if you can stand him) and commander Brage. The trick is avoiding battles with creatures that you meet on the way.

As to taking out large numbers of monsters, it depends on which class you are soloing. Characters with area of effect spells can cast them with impunity in a solo game because you don't have to worry about affecting party members. If you can summon pets(via a spell or the wand) that alone is a major advantage of BG1 over 2 because there is virtually no limit on how many you can command.

For classes without spell-casting, however, I admit this can be a bit of a challenge.

Nah, I always go through the whole conversation. If you force-talk him, it goes a lot faster. But then, I'm a bit soft-hearted as well as being sort of a miser for XP...
