You can do three things.
1. Reload
2. Turn into slayer. When you are a slayer you have mind-flyer like abbilties and will open the door.
3. Sleep. Then a mind flyer in the room with serums will appear again. Turn the party AI off before doing that, since if a party member tries to attack the mind flyer, it will get loose of the spell.
Hope this helps.

Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

In addition: in fact you need control mind flyer only to open two doors, all other places can be done properly closing/opening doors and using cloudkill and skulltrap/fireball + farsight/wizard eye. Keep all doors closed always! The room you always may find one is the same you got the serum to make collars. Take care to protect one who is going to use collar - flyer's attack range is larger than collars'. Take somebody with haste spell. After the control is gotten, haste and run to door you need to open. Be quick, and some door might be opened already to avoid slowing. Keep in mind the control is wearing out very fast, and, as soon door is open, the control is gone, you must fight.
So you have two collars left after the dungeon, and there might be some place you would wish you have more
It depends on the sequence you're doing quests. I, for example, finished all three dungeons even before entering Silver Dragons lair ( if you are checking from top to left, it is the last because you cannot pass the city gate).

No need to rest. The flayer will respawn from time to time.Originally posted by Vicsun:

Also, in the second room where you need a mind flayer to open a door, you may get lucky and not have to use a collar or turn into the slayer to get the door open. Just use wand of cloudkill on that room (only one time - this is one time where you don't want the monsters to die quick) and stay out of sight. The minds flayers, etc. will all start running around, and eventually one of the mind flayers may trigger the door to open. I've been able to leave the mind flayer dungeon with 3 collars in my possession and without using the slayer form.
