Can modifications to wepons be removed

hi been playing for the last month or so. have upgraded carths blaster and zalbars bowcaster.

is it possible to salvage those parts if i get a better wepon and are the character specific weapons the best weapon for that character to use??

Yes, just take the upgrades out the same way you put them in.

Make sure you click assemble after you have removed the parts (i keep forgetting this)
