Stuck at Charwood: Jhareg's Castle
Stuck at Charwood: Jhareg's Castle
I'm stuck at Jhareg's Castle when trying to open the door to the guardian spirit after choosing the central door and proceeding north. Somebody please help me!
Well, after entering the castle, I opened the only chest and got one key and a riddle note. I've already read the walkthrough here. I chose the central door behind which there is no demon. And I opened all the chests, even the fountain. When I face the door to the guardian spirit, it says "Locked". I'm stuck here. I've opened the chest nearby the door where I got a note of congratulations.
i went through the middle path also, and encoutered the same problem. but i picked the lock anyways beigng a rogue... so i suggest u break the door, or return to town and get Tommy!
i do not recall this problem when i went through the right and left doors though, but that was a year ago...
there is no "right" door to choose from here amigo, choosing the center door simply removes the necessity of wading through some monsters..... i'd like to know what is your judgement though

Thank you very much, shift244. After reading your comments, I went to the door another time. But when I tried to bash the door, it says weapon ineffective. I'm a paladin so that I can't unlock the door myself. And Tommy is with me. He doen't offer help when I fails to open the door. Maybe I should give him more gold. :-D Fortunately, I found the door lever at last just to the left of the door. It is because it's so close to the chest that I missed it! What a poor sight Amigo has?!
Well, thanks so much to you guys. I guess the left way and the right way both have its door lever.

ah... yes i believe it is so. sorry for the earlier response. now i remember that there is a lever. i missed it too, i guess one should rotate the map more often.
but i'm responding to your Tommy not trying to pick the door. it could be that he knows about the lever, or it could be that u have instructed your henchmen to leave doors alone if you cannot open them. though by default it is set otherwise. talk to him... there should be an option where u can set how far he is from u, etc.

ahh.... it is? then u have managed to open the the door to the "crypt" to the north of the temple of tyr in chapter 2? there is a grey building to your left near some graves if you face the gate to the north road (? leading to the map before you reach the green griffon).
that door refuses to open to me. there are similar doors too but that door lies on top of my mind. so u have opened that? what's behind it?

Oh, no. I learned that when you fail to open a door and if it says something other than "Locked", for instance "This door is banned from the other side. You Have to find the proper key.", Tommy will not help you and you will not be able to unlock it.
What I mean is that this door is the only door that says "Locked" and Tommy refuses to help. I've encounted other doors that says things more than that. But that doesn't make me feel stuck. As I remember, there is a building in Peninsula District, Chapter 1 that I can't open.

i found a few doors that does not respond with "requires a key" or "locked from the other side". i know that these two line mean that the door is either quest controlled (the former, requiring u to go through the "trouble" of getting the key), or just for decorations (latter, where they are there so the environment looks better).
thing is i've come to doors that does not respond with those lines when i try to pick it. the results of the action is rolled and displayed as if picking any other lock with too high a DC:
20 + lockpick skill=result vs DC 100 (sucess not possible) i'm just curious as to what lies behind these doors. bashing remains uneffective evern with the greatsword for some reason
small spoiler!!

and.. i know that this is possible as there is at least 1 place i know that high fortitue characters can go where others cannot. so i'm just wondering.....
