Pay attention and you'll notice that Revan is rarely referred to in a gender-specific context. Pay even closer attention and you'll also notice that the few times a gender is prescribed to Revan, it's dependent on the gender of the main character.

Although it is worth noting that in the flashbacks and the mask removal scene, Revan's body mesh is male irregardless of the PC's gender. Ew.
