Okay, silly question of the day, but how exactly do i start a heart of fury game?

Go to your options menu (using the autostart) and switch in on there.
Then start a new game (you can import characters from your normal game)
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

You run IceWind Dale II Configuration which is an application in the same folder as the main program. It is the place you go to change your screen resolution. There is a checkbox you click to activate Heart of Fury mode. You then open a new game of Icewind Dale II and can start with all new characters (not advised) or import some higher level characters from previous games, or go for a mix of both (to get insanely high XP per kill!)
