There I was, happily working my way though IWD (I have the latest patch) when we had a power cut. 2 minutes later the power comes back on but now, when I run IWD and click "Load" from the main screen I get the above error message.
I've reinstalled IWD. Same problem. I've run CHKDSK. Same problem. And just to rub salt into the wound, when I search my whole C drive for the infScreenLoad.cpp I can't find it anywhere!
Anyone had this problem? How did you fix it?
thanks

not to bump an old thread, but i found this post in my search for a solution to the same problem, so in the interests of posterity...
i had the same thing happen. i alt-tabbed from IWD to something else right after auto-saving and the whole thing actually rebooted. after that, whenever i would try to load a game from the main menu it would reboot the entire system. i tried starting a new game and then loading, at which time it crashed to the desktop with the error message you describe.
i re-installed, messed with the graphics settings, all to no avail. increasingly desperate, i thought to remove the auto-save from the save game directory.
works fine now. woo. save file must have gotten corrupted when it rebooted, although i still have no idea why it crashed in the first place.
