stone golem slow and ring of free action

Post by Bruce Lee »

Isn't the ring supposed to protect you from the effects? it does protect against the slowing thing but not the ac and thac0 penalty... ah maybe it is meant to be that way. Slow is a good spell really.

I thought so too. Getting hit twice by slow severly limits your attacks even if you have the same number of them.

well free action meant you cant be slowed or hasted, just that your player speed would remain the same, strictly in terms of what its supposed to do the free action ring is behaving like it should, thats just a testement to how crappy it is however.

Try arbanes and see if it does the same, it might be the item is scripted wrong (i remember it in bg1.. or was it spidersbane...) being a ported over BG1 item, or it could be that free action is supposed to behave that way.. so yah, check arbanes, if you still get the bug its tough cookies, free action sucks.. if not then its a bug due to lazy programming (and it gives me something to fix)

Yeah same results with arbane and also with a monk. So if you face a bunch of golems, take out the stone golems first!!
