game crash at snowglobe....help!
I am at the part in chapter 3 where im to enter the wizards dungeon to retrieve the snowglobe. A crash in the game ,due to the hordes patch, makes it impossible to physically encounter the air and fire elementals. I found that I can walk through the dungeon invisible by quaffing a potion, but still cannot get the snowglobe. Can i type in a cheat e.g. get snowglobe? In order to continue the game i need this snowglobe. Hopefully after i get the snowglobe, i wont encounter anymore game shattering bugs. Has anyone else had any problems since the hordes patch? Thanks for any info.
I have just played through the original NwN + SoU after playing through HotU and did not encounter this problem, so affraid I can't help you with it.
The item code for the snowglobe is, as far as I can find out:
m3q1_a11_lil_001
So to get the globe you have type the following commands in the console prompt.
DebugMode 1
dm_spawnitem m3q1_a11_lil_001
DebugMode 0

thanks for the help with the snowglobe, i wonder if its just that my computer is old p2 500 with a geoforce 2 64 in it.
I managed a way around the problem without a cheat though. I remained invisible throughout the whole dungeon until i came to the gong room, rang the gongs, got the globe, recalled.
Now im in the snowglobe. You played through all those expansions already? gosh, ive been pluggin at this for about a year now. Kids.

Hehe -I hardly qualify for the "kids" lable being 27 years old
- but I rarely have problems in the NwN games, so they are completed relative quickly.
As for how the expansions are, well I think HotU is a better expansion then SoU. SoU was in my oppinion just a lot of hack n' slash in a mediocracy story, and the best part about SoU is the henchmen called Deekin (love that critter).
HotU was a better story and feel to it - and had some interesting situations and battles. The puzzles are basically the same difficulty (wich isn't very difficult, in my oppinion) but the addition of skills, more feats and more presitige classes was good - and Deekin is back
(Although personally - I think they went a little to much like BG2:ToB with the levelcap of 40)
The original NwN I rate better then SoU, but under HotU - but that is my personal oppinion.

argggh again with the crashes
hey man the games crashin again, this time whenever i touch a lich, when before it was fire elementals and air elementals. The game just stops and it starts spinning the game disc. I think its looking for something, did they change those creatures in any of the expansions? Im not having any problems fighting orcs, vampires, skellitons, dwarves and dryads. Seems very particular and strange. oh and im sorry i wasnt calling you a kid, the reason why its taking me so long finishing this game is because i have two kids and i can only play for a couple hours twice a week. This crashing is driving me batty, but i did get the word of power out of the snowglobe, now im in coldwood again in a tomb. back to the grind

It seems wierd that your game suddenly decided to start crashing at various points.
The way you descripe it, the problem is deffinately connected to the cd-rom drive/reading the disc. It could be a problem with an expansion disc? Or maybe because they have changed disc-protection software on the discs?
I am affraid I can't really give any suggestions as to what to do, to solve it.
I can only advice trying to take it to the official game support.
