I just bought KOTOR PC version. I'm running on Windows ME and have downloaded the latest update, but my game still has awful lines running through it and I can't move my characters! I've done everything I can think of (nothing running in background, changed to 32 bit color etc.)
Does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this? I can't believe I spent 50 bucks on this POS!
Would appreciate ANY help!
Thanks,
Katie
Please HELP!!!
Ok, I'm pretty computer challenged here, but this what I have for hardware...I think.
gateway select 1000
AMD Athlon 1000
128 memory mod
32mb NVIDIA Geforce2
40 GB Ultra ATA hard drive
12x/40x dvdrom drive
Hope this is what you were looking for.
BTW...how do check to see if I have the latest drivers? I went to MS updates and it said I had everything...
Thanks,
K

I hate to say it, but your computer is horrible under powered when it comes to running this game. KotOR is a graphically intense game, and as such, requires a system with some more oomph. So, unless you can afford to up your system (RAM, CPU (I'd recommend an AMD 2500+ BArton), and video card, you really won't be able to play it. Sorry to tell you that.

If you look at the required system requirements you can san see that you just make them, except for the 256 Mb RAM requirement for Windows ME. So Armisael is right in his assessment. Luckily, some extra memory does not cost much these days. And you will probaly find your other software performing better too. If you want a smooth running game, take a look at the recommended system specs on the same page.

First of all, how DARE you insult KOTOR for the PC?!! Or were you referring to your computer? lol
Seriously, though, I think your graphics drivers MAY be the problem. Plus I think you probably have a Geforce 2 MX, which is worse than a Geforce 2. (I have an Athlon XP 1700+ and a Geforce 2 TI, btw, and it runs well enough at 1280x960.)
You can go to http://www.nvidia.com and download the latest drivers and install them for Windows ME. Hope that'll help.
