The Boon of Starkiller?

Post by Drale »

I was wondering if anything like this had happened to anyone else:

So I'm fighting Bendak Starkiller in the arena, using the classic lob-and-mob strategy. I manage to concuss him and take advantage of it by buffing Str, Dex and Con with the adrenal stimulants. Blows are exchanged, BENDAK IS DOWN (BENDAK IS DEAD!) and I exit the arena.

Now about 15 minutes later I realize that my stats are still increased. This is way beyond the max time limit for those potions. I've tried using more stimulants and waiting 120 seconds to see if that clears it out, but no luck. Looks like somehow the arena transition gave me a permanent +12 total bonus to my stats.

This doesn't sit well with me, as I'm trying to play this thing legit. Any suggestions on how to get back to my normal weakling self?

Edit: I'm fully patched, by the way.

There are known issues with area transition affecting the duration of status effects... are you sure it's permanent? Tried just waiting it out?

Very same thing happened to me, and right after I finished whupping Bendak. I tried waiting about half an hour, and the effect never wore off. I think it's just a bug. Had to reload.

I once had the same with Force Speed, wich was pretty annoying because the screen gets all blurry.
But after leaving the planet the effect went away.

Oh, and sorry for replying to such an old topic.

It does eventually wear off, however. Can't say I can pinpoint when, though.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I believe the Force Speed issue kind of relevant actually. It seems that every time you switch locations while having Speed cast on yourself, it's timer resets. If you're doing a lot of talking, it won't matter, really, but if you're just going on an errand to a specific place (such as the Dune Sea with Canderous' quest, for example) after having been to that planet, it saves force points and is quite handy.

Sever times in the game I've also had this happen: I cast Speed right before using the Galaxy Map and travelling to another planet. When I landed, the Speed was there. Can't say when it wore off, but it took a LONG time.
