Loss of Strength?

Hey guys.

I have just recently made it to the Underdark, and have gone into the Beholder Caves. Just after facing and killing the elder orb, I noticed that my main character's strength rating was in the red at 17, from 18/74.

He does not have any debuff type spells on him, nor has he had any sort of level loss. I tried to cast restoration on him to no effect. I have also tried equipping gauntlets of ogre power, and for some reason his str stays at 17 and doesnt go to 18/00.

Any ideas? I cant seem to work it out.

Maybe you are using the shield of balduran

There is a strength penalty of one when equipped. Just a guess.

Or you've been cursed... have yout cleric or druid cast 'remove curse' on you.
