slightly annoying gameplay problem

for some reason, the character portraits and options and dialogue along the bottom of the screen disappear when i am in the game. however, they appear when i pause the game. i cant figure out where in the gameplay settings this option is turned on and off, so i am really at a loss. it is a huge pain to have to pause the game every time i need to access invintory or the journal or see characters hit points/cast spells, basically everything. i dont know how to fix this, please help! thanks

You have hidden the interface,
you can set the hotkey for this in the config menu.

I believe the default it "H"

you might find that playing without the interface panels gives you a better view, and using hot keys to access inventory and others is faster and more convenient IMO.

btw, it's
'i' for inventory
'j' for journal
'o' for game options
'r' for character records
'w' for arcane spell book
'p' for priest spells
