Best Critical Threat range

Post by Arnham »

I've been fiddling around with a few characters using the Halls of Advanced Training mod, seeing what I want to play HotU with, and one I'm messing around with is a Fighter/Pale Master mix.

My question is what is the highest critical threat range one can achieve? I specialized in rapiers, and with a bunch of feats (at work, so don't know exactly which), I was able to get it to 12-20 for both hands (dual weilding).

Is there anything that will improve this any more? Its pretty sweet hitting for crits so often, I'm even thinking about playing all the way through again to see how this toon progresses.

I took it to 10F/3W/10PM and it was pretty fun, although I question the usefulness of the Familiar and summoned Undead since they're kinda puny against any boss mob.

the threat range depends on the weapon u wield s u know, n in NWN, the weapon with the greatest base threat range is the rapier. there is no other weapon of choice that readily comes to mind, unless there is an exotic weapon, but i recall none.

getting the imp crit feat for rapiers will increase its base 18-20 to 15-20. using a magical rapier with keen property (or casting a keen spell on a rapier, though likely u'd want the former method) will give u a theat range of 12-20.

if u have the HOTU sxpansion, which u do seeing u have the palemaster, taking 7 lvls of the WM class will boost the range by another 2. giving a final grand threat range of 9-20. a whooping 55% for dealing a crit.

that's the best that i can think of as of now. ;)
