Yoshimo Question - Spoiler
Yoshimo Question - Spoiler
After you kill Yoshimo, does he actually have to talk to you for you to be able to take his heart to the temple for purification? I picked up his heart after the battle but he did not get to say anything since he kind of went to pieces when my fighter PC and Keldorn went after him. So, I just want to know if I can still do the quest or if I have to go back and fight the battle over again, taking care to avoid splattering Yoshimo all over the place.

As far as I recall, he doesn't have to say anything - but I'm not 100% sure.
To make sure, after you've killed him and gotten his heart, look at your journal. It should say something about his heart in the quests section. If it doesn't he's likely supposed to talk.
edit=> I'm assuming you're talking about a conversation just before his death? Because before the battle (and before he turns hostile), he should talk to you explaining how he had little choice. If you've killed him while he was still 'blue' you've likely messed something up.

Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak
Well, I went back and checked but there was no mention of it in my journal. I did however let him talk before he attacked me, so I did hear about how he had to trust in Ilmater for judgement and the like. However, I am pretty sure that after the battle is over, he asks you to take his heart in for purification, but I think this is the part that got messed up since there was nothing left to ask for my help. I did find his heart but nothing appeared in my journal.

You don't have to have any part of Yoshimo other than his heart. You can chunk him to pieces or leave him whole, it matters not one bit.
I don't think it should matter if you have something in your journal about this or not either. I have done this quest but when I look in my journal now, I am not seeing anything under the done quests.
Basically all you have to do is to take the heart to a priest. I went to the temple of Illmater in Waukeen's Promenade and when I talked to the priest, I got the "I have an odd request" or something like that option.
Just try going to a temple and talking to a priest with Yoshimo's heart, if you don't get the speech option to free Yoshimo's soul, you might have messed up somewhere.
You *might* need to go to a temple of Illmater specifically but I am not sure about this.

I just went back and checked a save file from my first time through the game and I did not have Yoshimo's request listed in the journal there either and that worked out fine, so I guess I just got concerned for nothing since it did not matter that Yoshimo was incapable of asking me to take his heart to a temple of Ilmater. But thanks for the help anyway since this might be useful to know.
