Hi, Maja_Luz
The quest in question is somewhat difficult to complete for all types of parties, but no patch AFAIK, Atari's and the Co8 fan patch, hinders me from completing this quest.
I clearly remember that i did this quest unpatched, (i did all), and upon installing Atari's patch i didn't have specific problems with it.
I have run through the game several times and always manage to comlete this quest.
The Co8 fan patch is highly recommended, as it solves a lot of other bugs regarding loot problems for Npc's and Crafting/Spells Issues.
There may be a time issue in this particular quest, but i dont't know how long it last's exactely.
What i do know is:
1) :
For initiation the Pc must be Female.
2) :
You need to have a + CHA score, or nice "talk skills", ie a female Ftr, Cha 6 wont be able to initiate this quest at all.
3) :
The quest takes time, if initiated before visiting the Moathouse, it's likely to complete after the Moathouse is done.
4) :
You have to visit Eddie several times before completion.
5) :
If your CHA score changes or your diplo/Cha skills increase this quest will go faster. I had my Female Druid increase Diplo skill by 2 with CHA 14 and voila : quest solved.
Eddie, the herdsman's son, have to go through 3 steps :
1) : You are not my Mommy ! Go away !
2) : You remind me of Mommy, you like my dogs ?
3) : Hey! Hmm,.....Mommy ? Let me show you around !
Again note that with -CHA score you wont't get this dialouge.
I dont't remember exactely the words, but he will eventually come along. So i guess that unless your female pc is UGLY , this quest will eventually resolve for you. Have patience.
It's not a big deal anyways, you'll likely get from 70 to 150 Xp for each Pc, and neither Lazlo or Eddie will be Npc's unless you enchant them with spells. (Don't do, they are weak!)
And, AFAIK this is the only quest depending on a female character.
They put a gay variant in, and that's nice IMO, but it seems wrong that all you'll miss for NOT having a female Npc is the Herdsman quest.
The npc's are fairly mixed, so why shouldn't the quest's be ? My guess is that there are more male players and i cant't think of any other reason right now, but i think men are more likely to buy games than women in general.
If you have problems, please download the Co8 patch here:
