Jaheira dialogue before Dermin fight won't activate

I've got to the stage of the jaheira romance/harper quest where one more dialogue is required before Dermin attacks. Only it won't show up. I've downloaded Manveru's patch, I've tried resting in inns and in the wild and nothing seems to activate it. Any advice?

use shadowkeeper and look @ the variables for that talk if you can find it? activate the trigger?

reload a saved game?... you DO have multiple save slots yes? :)
