Anti-aliasing problem

Jittery Force Jump (fromerly Anti-aliasing problem)

Hello all,

I just upgraded my video card to a Radeon 9600 Pro and decided to reinstall KotOR to test it out. However whenever I switch levels the anti-aliasing seems to turn itself off.

If it matters, I have:

P4 2.26GHz
768 RAM
Version 1.03
Latest ATI drivers
A rather annoying rash

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Okay, so the anti-aliasing problem seems to have fixed itself but now I've got other issues.

I'm on Dantooine and my jedi seems to stutter step when she runs across the plains. Also, whenver she does a force jump, it's totally and completely jittery. I'll see the beginning frame of the animation then it will pause for a split second and then I'll see a middle frame of the animation, pause, and so on.

I've played with the graphic settings, even going so far as to turn everything off and set it to the lowest resolution but it still does it.

Any suggestions?

Based on the overwhelming response to this thread, I feel obligated to follow up on my progress. I successfully fixed the problem by rolling back my Catalyst drivers from version 4.4 to 4.2. Now I'm getting astonishing frame rates even at 1280x1024. With 4.4 I was only able to play at 1024x768 as higher resolutions caused massive slow downs.

On another note, I strongly suggest that anyone playing with a GeForce MX 440 should ditch that card and upgrade to a Radeon. The difference is mind blowing.

Cheers!

I was blown away by the quality when I upgraded from Radeon 9600 Pro to 9800 Pro. The Radeon 9800 (128M) are definitely not that expensive nowadays ~ believe me, you won't regret it :) :) !

I have the same problems but with a:
P4 3.0ghz
Radeon 9800 Pro (128mg)
1024 RAM
Fully patched

I'm almost certain that it occured after getting the newest ATi patch but I don't want to rollback because Far Cry won't work.
