secret from a friend

Post by HiRo11er »

So I just remembered a quest from the beginning of the game that I realized I've never solved.
Your new friend in pelagiad -the foxy khajit- tells you a secret about hrordis (sp?) in the upstairs bedroom in the tavern, and how she has a magical belt and worships bad gods or something. I go up there, and she won't even talk to me. So much for taunting her to attack me...
Will I be able to talk to her at some point? Is it a quest? Is it worth it?
Just throwing out the question in the hopes that someone out there knows...
"Yes. Later on, I'd love to."

I blew it with that Khajit too.

I was very new to the game. That was the second or third place that Sugar Lips sent me. I declined to offer her help when she said that Cammora Tong were hassling her. I figured that I could go help her later. She seems to be gone from the game. Oops.

Spoilerism!

your foxy khajit friend will give you a whole string of quests to do, as i recall. but the hrordis one is more a hint i think. Hrordis has one of the Sanguine Thread artifacts, that the morag tong grandmaster is looking for. and the only way to get it from her is just to attack her, so you better close the door and sneak because you cant talk to her to taunt her.

hope that helped

Cast Frenzy Humanoid on her

For all my assassination quests I use a custom Frenzy Humanoid spell. Go to Sadrith Mora mage guild and buy a cheap frenzy spell. Then go to the spellmaker there and have her make you a powerful cast on target frenzy humanoid spell of about 80-90 points for 5 seconds. That's enough to get them to attack you. Then whenever you have to assassinate someone for the Morag Tong use the spell on them without talking to them first. Obviously you don't have to use it when the hit is on a smuggler or criminal but its great for crowded places or where the hit is an important member of a great house.

Good point. I joined the morag tong once before, but couldn't figure out how to kill my targets without pissing off the world... (my speechcraft was too low to taunt, as well)
It actually sounds easier to just frenzy them instead of taunting them, too. Harassing them enough to make them attack you is fun, but it can be time consuming even if your speechcraft is high...
I have been called pathetic so often it's not even funny anymore... :D

I'm definitely joining the morag tong now. Even if I've played the game a looong time there are still tons of things I haven't even touched upon!

I found the Morag Tong to be EXTREMELY boring, he tells you to kill someone, you kill them and you get money, its so predictable!

I closed the door and tried to attack the person with the belt. Crime was caught anyways. If she worships an evil god maybe only way to talk to her is to become a leader in the followers of the god and maybe she'll be begging at your feet to talk to you.
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel alright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.
I may be bad, but I feel good.

The challenge with the Morag Tong is to find all of the Sanguine items before being made the grandmaster. Without a cheat or walkthru, that means hunting down all non-Morag Tong assassins. That means really paying attention to the dialog options when talking to strangers. Holders of the Sanguine items seem to fall into two groups - Dark Brotherhood/non-affiliated assassins and daedric god worshippers. The writs are boring, especially if you have a Frenzy Humanoid spell. Even the lady with the belt (she falls into the daedric god worshipping class) is a breeze with the Frenzy spell. But you can kill her without it if you have really good sneak skills and a weapon that can split her skull with one blow. Wind up your weapon for a killing blow and sneak up behind her and let her have it. If you kill her immediately you crime will not be reported.
