I'm afraid no, you cant end a combat until all opponents are dead or downed (sleep spell etc.), so you cant escape the dungeon or rest.

It sound to me, from the info above, that you are in the Moathouse. Are you high enough on levels ? Remember to do as many side-quests as possible in Homlet.

Also remember to use quicksasve a lot (F12) and quickload (F9). You can do this in the middle of combat to, so if the enemy get's several critical hit on you you can reload (in Normal mode. Ironman have NO reload). If all goes bad load your Autosave and try a different strategy.

To cancel Entangle, and other spells, right-click on your character to bring up the radial menu. Where your spell icon is, above it should also be a 'dismiss' line. If you play a unpatched game this feature is BUGGED, so be sure to get the patch(es).

Good luck :) :) :)

Well we found out the hard way if your not a bit higher level then when you first started the game, the Moat House can be diffcult. I dunno how many or what people you do have in your party but, If you have Melany, I am pretty sure she comes with a nice entangle spell. Or you can just put them to sleep and rob them. When there fast asleep and that battle is over "Coupe De Grace" and there compeletly finshed. If you want since my hon was a lower level when he first started he saved after each battle. If you so happened to save before this battle then reload it there. Rest your charries, do side levels and everything you possiably can to get your party up.

In the large room with all the soldiers( i think this is the room you are speaking of) the only way we found is to beat them is too cast WEB. Then cast Charm Person on one of guards. Arm your party with bows and arrows and kill em that way. It seems a bit on the cheat scale but its over all good tactics. We found out quickly running in and trying to slaughter them is d**n near impossiable.

Hope this helps you sugah

Well, it's NOT imposible, but your choice of 'spells' is importante el grande !!

If you use 'Web' or 'Entangle' it will affect you too, and you'd have to use missiles to get the enemies. Don't do that. !! There's a lot of archers there, and they will kill your weaker Chars. unless you are very careful, plus yopu have a couple of fighters with 'Reach' weapons. Unless you have the same your own 'Entangle' might kill you....

You have a party of 4 or 5 (without Npc's - with Elmo & 2 more fighters this fight is a cakewalk...) members. They should at now be at least lvl 2. If they're lvl 3, all the better. The XP system in 3,5 is that 1-3 lvl party's get the same xp for battles, when you hit lvl 4 the XP for the same battle will decrease.

When selecting spells for the wizard (don't leave home without one) stay away from spells availible through 'scrolls' in the game. A good choice of spells at lvl 3 is 'Scare' (Necromancy), and 'Tashas' Hideous Laughter'. These spells work througout the game. Cast 'Scare' & 'Sleep' and the battle wiil be easy.

If you don't have 'Sleep' (you should have), buy it from 'Burne', the wizard of 'Omlet' (heh-heh :) )

Take your time, this goes for ANY battle, prepare carefully and hit hard & fast. In said battle, instead of letting the enmy deucide battle orders, why not scout with a rouge and hit 'C' to iniciate combat and auto 'Sneak Attack' the big bad dudu. !...

Have Fun & kill'em Quick :) :) :)
