Do you ever wander around just so you can find a new town?
I do it a lot.

I wander around Vvardenfell all the time, Im on a quest to destroy all Cliff Racers
What a wonderous love it is
To bind two souls in faith,
Chained completely together
With never a false word,
Weal and woe, wish and real,
Woven each together
From first kiss to last breath
First and last whispered in love

I find it hard to stay on the "paths". There's too much good stuff that I need. I hate it. When I'm doin' a quest... And there's a ruin... So I go and explore... And then I get overencumbered... And then I have to cast my "Recall" spell and go back to my house and unload everything... And then I totally forget what I was doing. It aggrivates me beyond anything.
I'm an xboxer.

I do it quite frequently. Sometimes just because, and other times because I end up getting sidetracked while trying to complete a quest.. One thing I find with Morrowind is that it is not generally a game that moves quickly, and because of its completely unstructured 'framework' it is impossible to not wander.

I love wandering aimlessly in the molag amur the ashlands and grazelands regions. I like going into crypts that you would have otherwise never found, wiping out rogue Telvanni settlements, finding 6th House caves, searching shipwreaks and making new friends amongst the daedra worshippers (only the ones outside the shrines). I love going into daedric shrines, killing everyone inside and then looting the alter so I can summon a dremora lord. Vampire crypts are also a lot of fun - I love their voices. For some reason, I don't really enjoy exploring dwemer ruins all that much though - to clanky and the loot is heavy. Before I go wandering I like to load up with a couple hundred glass throwing stars. When they run out I switch over to a daedric bow with glass arrows. The Fang dagger is my final backup weapon. Just wandering around looking for draedra, soultrapping goldies and ogrims, jumping from mountain tops and exploring in general is the most fun I have with this game.

@ i4v02v95i5p09k9: Regarding cliffracers. I hope you realize that they respawn very quickly and that it would be impossible to wipe them out.

Wandering around helps me build up my athletics skill. I actually jump from mountain tops and slopes to build up my acrobatics skill. It goes up much faster that way. I also do pearl hunting. :D

I said only when desperate, although thats not entirely accurate, I'll run around the grazelands looking for Golden Saints, but other than that, I usually either use fast travel or know where I want to walk in advance, and for the most part stick to the route.

I heard there was a mod that let you make them extinct whether that is a quest or it just removes them from the game I don't know, but it might be worth having a look.

wandering around is pretty fun. I usually try usually try to wander around when I don't have any quests to finish, or if the quests that I have aren't that important and can be finished later. :p

Sounds like a good mod.. but unfortunately im plugged into an Xbox with MW, so I must fight my battles without the help of mods or cheating programs..

yea, I agree, it does sound like a good mod. But while I play MW on the PC, I'm not really one to use mods. which is too bad. ;)

Well it is probably much more "candid" way of playing, like the designers wanted us to play.. I suppose modding would be alright provided you've beaten the whole game first, well at least the main quest.

I guess but then it woudl be cool just to have like a messabout game using a ridiculous mod, especially the no cliffracers mod.

I too am on the xbox version so its difficult (but not impossible) for me to use mods, so i havent bothered at the moment

I really don't know why people buy the X-Box version, or even an X-Box. Load of rubbish.

The high road

I often find my character trying to go cross country. That's often tough with the high hills in places.

Much of the time my charater parallels the road about half way up a hill.

Odd that.
