WTF! who are these guys?

Post by UserUnfriendly »

Just finished the underdark and gave eggs to silver dragon, decide she was not snotty enough to whack, and besides, she deserved the eggs, and really didn't want a bunch of solver dragons hatching in the planer sphere...what do you feed them, anyway???

Just had drizzt encounter, and got him to help me with minimum of politeness...

Anyway, after drizzt meeting went off to temple ruins to see if i could get harper pin, and had an encounter with a bunch of travellers, who asked if I was the famous userunfriendly, the super hero....I said, of course, then they turned into exact replicas of my party, and attacked!!!

the all died in a single inc cloud, but who were these jokers? were they the result of jons spawn clone spell way back in spellhold? and just finally caught up with me? Any info would be appreciated.
They call me Darth...

I think that they're there to remind you that you need to go after Irenicus, but they don't signal anything and there's no time limit in chapter 6

I think the most likely explanation is that the Bioware guys decided to cut out the quest and forgot to remove the traces from the game. I also had the same encounter, though early in the game while waylaid on my way to the Bridge District.

This encounter should normally occur when you leave the city for the 1st time.

Trym you're thining of something else, this one comes after you leave the Underdark. And I did not see this encounter the first few times I've gone through the game either, or at least I do not remember it, being so long since I've come back to this game.

But on my run before this current one, I do distinctly recall running into this group of wierdos and being very confused. It is very likely ToB involved.

I've had this group come every time I've played, with and without ToB. They always come the first time I leave the Underdark. Also, I don't think they are related to anything important.

Hrm, usually the very first group that I run into is Drizzt and his buds, not the clones group. Are you sure you're talking about the same one that UserUnfriendly is talking about?

Drizzt & Co is an outdoors encounter, the Doppelganger gang is a city encounter.

The last time I ran into the doppelganger gang the encounter took place outdoors.

They can't be there because of Irenicus' Spawn Clones spell 'cause I killed the clones in the Asylum, yet the doppelganger gang still appeared.

I have encounter the "doppelganger" encounter every time I've played.

They start by asking if you are the legendary <insert name here>.
If you say yes - they change into "a naked you" no equiptment, if you say no, (in my case) they just moved on.
And yes - it always occured outside.

IMO they could be part of a loose quest, but I think it is more like the "bounty hunters" in BG1.
