XP of joining npc's.

Post by Bruce Lee »

I started a solo blade game but then I got bored and since I am chaotic neutral I decided to bring Viconia, Edwin and Korgan also known as the A-team. Since I started solo I gathered XP rather quickly and was level 13 after only a few quests and reading alot of scrolls. When they joined me they were also level 12 or 13. Now I have done copper coronet, tanner, worked for mae'var, harper poisoned man, korgans quest and have joined bodhi. Viconia and I are level 15 and Korgan and Edwin are level 14. Talk about the game being easy! has anyone else noticed this?
Strange thing happened to Edwin though. When he joined he hade more spells from level 1-6 than he has now. Anyone else noticed this?

the only thing ive noticed, bruce, is that you have more technical problems with the game than anybody ive EVER talked to. you might look into getting some sort of a refund. ^_^

NPCs will level up according to your level - only if they haven't joined your party yet - up to a maximum of about 12 - 15 (depending on the class, the max xp is 1200000). If they have joined the party and you removed them, they will remain at the level they have when you kicked them out, no matter how many levels you have gained in the mean time.

It might be better to get them early... That way you can shape their development some more, and ensure they get good Hit Point rolls (if you temporarily set Difficulty to Normal or reload like mad).

The extra number of spell slot for edwin is because of *ahem* running shadowkeeper on your savegame. If you edit then save game using shadowkeeper, then Edwin will have one more extra spells! This will give him 3 extra spell slots every level! The best way to avoid this bug is to 1) install a bugfix from Baldurash; 2) never run the shadowkeeper on your savegame (yeah, never run it on your savegame but you're free to edit your character and import him into the multiplayer party as long as the shadowkeeper do not modify your savegame file itself) Hope this helps :)
